Essential EP - Star Slinger - Rogue Cho Pa

Without a doubt Star Slinger , aka Darren has been my breakout beatsmith for the last couple years. With his remixes (Cocteau Twins,Gold Panda, Teams, Washed Out, Broken Social Scene, Chris Brown to name a few) and his banging first official release of Dumbin' with vocals by Reggie B its hard not to notice the sheer amount of quality work that has been coming out of Manchester through Darren.

I even made my own self tagged web compilation about a year ago trying to round up of Star Slingers available material at the time. It was first on Blaylocks Playlist sometime in 2010 when i first hear the sheer power of this man's beats and glitch hop.

Rogue Cho Pa is a self-released EP by Star Slinger in 2011 of tracks he had made that he know thought were basiclly dead, never to be released. His standards are fucking high if this is his trash he's not releasing. This shit bangs. Very Dilla-esqe. Very Dope.

Flashback MP3 - Frank Ocean - Swim Good

I know that putting Frank Ocean as a flashback doesnt really count seeing he just released his uncanny nostalgia/ultra earlier this year to critical acclaim. But i really like this song. Its finger banging music at its finest. Its Frank Ocean at his finest. The guy who in my opinion has really been the forefront of this dark R&B revival. It'll be interesting to see his remastered re-debut ,if you will, hopefully Def Jam doesn't fuck it up.

MP3 - Icono Pop Manners

This an absolutely massive track. If you peeped the Pantystep mix this song may have jumped out at you right in the middle. At first i thought i was a mix of a few 'choons but thankfully its one blissful, eletronic pop tasty track.

Essential Mixtape - Toublemakers' Pantystep

DJ Toublemaker, hailing from LA, has been stirring the pot with his infectious bass heavy mind blending dj skills. Pantystep is one of those mixes that the track selection and mixing is just top notch. People love to shake their booties, and thanks to Pantystep you can hit repeat a couple of times rather then dig around for something new. This has been on steady rotation at my place the last few months. Enjoy.

Mission Statement / MP3 A.Dd+ Can't Come Down

This blog has been created as a vessel to share music, art and cultural happenings with my friends whom have so sudden dispersed around canada.

First up is this dallas duo, A.Dd+, whom seem to really be on a solid tip. Its a song about getting high and going to work, we've all done that a few times.

Peep the track here .... im sure you'll be unable to help your head from bumping on this one. Something about the beat kinda reminds me of Jeru and Premier doing Come Clean.

and Im out. Ax.
